One reason why I believe in and love what I do with all of my heart.

When this new website began in 2012, it started fresh as a blog so the prior weddings from 2009-2011 were no longer on my site. I would like to feature this 2011 wedding again for reasons I’ll explain. The wedding of Joe and Lisa is one of my all time favorites. Yes, the decorations, venue, and bride and groom were beautiful, but this wedding was truly more than that. The love was so strong, that it felt palpable and even I had to wipe away a few tears while shooting.

It’s difficult to express sometimes why I believe what I do is so important. Photographs that embody the most important milestones and times in our lives grow richer in value as time goes on, so we don’t always appreciate these documents until years have passed. Recently I received an email from Lisa, and it touched my heart.

“We have had a rough week…my Mother Phyllis passed away this past week and we have been trying to deal with the loss. What I wanted to email you about is that I have some wonderful pictures of my Mother and I over the years but the ones that I am SO very thankful for are the beautiful pictures that you captured of us on our wedding day. I just wanted you to know what a special gift you have and that you are very lucky to have a passion for something that can make such a large impact in peoples lives. I have always loved our wedding pictures and what you were able to capture but now more than ever they mean so much more!! Thank you for being there and being such a wonderful part of our special day.” -Lisa Jones

Thank you Lisa, for the honor of documenting your wonderful and love filled wedding day, as well as your special relationships with your family and friends. Thank you also for letting me share this with others. Joe and you both are beautiful on the outside and in.

Featured on Rock’n Roll BrideOh where to begin. Kayleigh is my girl. Some of you will recognize her because she’s been a second shooter for me for the last two years. Kayleigh did this wedding just right, because it was oh-so-Kayleigh…intimate, full of color, sweetness, love, and fun. At one point we even just had to shrug our shoulders and laugh when the carefully picked out box of cupcakes got accidently smooshed. Despite that, it was a beautiful and sunshiney day. Jason and Kayleigh congratulations! Thank you for letting me be a part of your new chapter. I can’t wait to come visit you in Seattle again! P.S. My favorite all time wedding shoes goes to (drum roll)…you (duh) ;)

Angela and George have one of those love stories that everyone secretly, if not openly, wishes they had. The story of love at first site. George knew the moment he meet Angela (thanks to Southwest airlines), that she was going to be his wife. There was something special about her and they couldn’t help but gravitate to one another. Like most relationships they had there ups and downs, but their love pulled them through. So here we are, and George was right. :)

Angela and George! The big day is coming up so soon and I’m excited for it to get here! Thank you for an amazing day and for the record, you’re the only couple I’ve ever woken up at 3:30am and then been in my car by 4:30am to go shoot. You are totally worth it! Love, Junebug

Ashley & Cheez

The first time I met Ashley, I felt like I could sit there and talk with her for hours. That’s probably why we sat there and talked for hours. Ha! One of the things we talked about when we first met months ago was how her and Cheez met. The owners of their workout facility (Crossfit Deco) actually introduced them, so we knew from the get go what location was a must for their engagement session. Speaking of which, a giant thank you to Crossfit Deco for letting us shoot in your space, and also for introducing these two. Ashley and Cheez, I feel thankful everyday to feel warm ;). Really, thank you for two days of laughter. I can’t wait for Beano’s!

Living in Colorado is amazing for a plethora of reasons, but as a wedding photographer I’m extra blessed because Colorado does have the best snowy winter weddings. The wedding of Phil and Amanda is a perfect example. This snowy winter Devil’s Thumb Ranch wedding could not have been more magical. I mean come on…a bridal party snowball fight?! Uh-maz-ing. Phil and Amanda thank you for the honor of documenting your beautiful snowy wedding. It was so much fun! P.S. Can you please give me the address of the the groomsmen who threw a snowball at me at point blank range. I have some Elf like snowball skills that I need to unleash ;).
